Doug Stewart joined Dixon’s this past year as an Associate Auctioneer. After 20 years in the retail business world, Doug began pursuing his passion of buying and selling via the auction method full time in 2001.

He has been active in the antique business since attending his first Dixon’s Auction in Richmond, back in 1987.  Since that time, he has accumulated a wealth of product knowledge on the many different categories of antiques available locally and internationally. He gained valuable real estate knowledge while working as an agent with Realty World.

Doug graduated The Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point, North Carolina on Feb.16th 2001.

Currently, he is serving as the Company Buyer, Consultant and a member of the Real Estate Division Development Team at Dixon’s.

Doug resides in Chesterfield County with his wife Theresa and their three children

I started working in the Auction industry as a teenager for various Auctioneers around the Richmond, Va. area. In 1980 my parents Ed & Jenny started Dixon's Auction's Incorporated where I worked until a hearing impairment forced me to leave the family business at age 30. In 2005, at the age of 38 I had a cochlear implant surgery which restored my hearing. After rejoining the family business, I graduated from auctioneers' school and I am now a licensed auctioneer at Dixon's Auctions where I will carry on the family business.
